About Gender Violence in Cuba:
Cuban Women live with many taboos including the Gender Violence. Many mistakenly believe it is a private matter and admit it would delegitimize their home and family. Seeking Legal or specialized help is not a common answer. Women prefer the maternal support, and many who decide to denounce violence, in shortly time they withdraw the denounce. Many are dedicated to their home but others that work outside home do not have time on weekends to attend the workshop about gender violence. Many women in Cuba do not recognized as battered because they identified themselves as perpetrators of abuse. The vast majority evades or refuses be abused, becoming like that in victims of the naturalization of violence.
